Winter is Officially Here!
PCI Encourages Consumers to Prepare for Cold and Snow

This year winter officially began on December 21, 2014, at 6:03 p.m. EST. However, the East Coast has already experienced a couple powerful nor’easters and some areas around Buffalo have already received more than 80 inches of snow. The heavy snow resulted in many roof collapses and structural damage and PCI reminds everyone that winter storms can cause significant damage for homeowners and motorists. Hazardous road conditions lead to more traffic accidents and homeowners often face frozen pipes, power outages and damage caused by falling trees.

PCI has developed an infographic highlighting the impact of winter weather. However, when severe weather causes property damage insurers are prepared to work with consumers to minimize the inconveniences and help make the insurance claims process go as smoothly as possible. PCI is playing a leading role in providing consumers with important insurance information to help educate them about insurance and winter storms.
